Cellular
Phone Etiquette |
When
walking through a store, mall, or even in a restaurant, the noise
level increases noticeably when several phones are ringing and people
are talking. With hundreds of cellular phones being used regularly,
there are certain courtesies that should be observed.
1. Turn down the volume of the ringer.
2. Speak in the lowest tones possible to still
be heard.
3. In restaurants, quickly tell your “caller”
you will return his or her call.
4. In church, public buildings, and at funerals,
always turn off your cellular phone.
5. If you are with your spouse and/or family,
let them feel they are more important than your phone call.
6. While most states allow talking on cellular
phones while driving, keep these conversations to a minimum or not
at all. For safety’s sake, concentrate on your driving.
Cellular phones let us keep in touch with family,
friends, and business associates at all times. They are great for
emergencies. However, uncontrolled use of cellular phones can be
very irritating to those around you. Simply observing a few courtesies
gives people a more positive attitude toward you and your cell phone.
