Spring Cleaning Teams |
Spring
is the time when the earth is waking up after a long winter's nap.
It's time to garden, paint, wash windows, and do major house cleaning.
Individuals who are physically challenged could
use a team of volunteers to help them accomplish many of the chores
which need to be done.
Consider putting together a team of five or six
men and women who enjoy helping.
Preparations
- Plan a day that is convenient for the volunteers
as well as the recipient.
- Take a sack lunch and an extra for the recipient.
- Take your own gardening and hand tools, cleaning
supplies, etc.
Things to Do
- Vacuum and dust, wash and hang curtains,
vacuum draperies.
- Wash windows.
- Strip old wax from linoleum and re-wax.
- Wash and put away quilts and blankets.
- Rake leaves, trim trees (nothing major) and
shrubs, and weed the flowerbeds.
- You may want to plant a few flowers.
- Vacuum and wash the car.
- Clean out gutters.
- Be creative in your cleaning.
Your team of volunteers should get together informally
before you make your plans in order to decide what you can do within
the timeframe you set. Make it fun and, above all, a ministry.
