Emergency Care |
You
never know when someone will need emergency care. It could be your
spouse, child, a dear friend, or a stranger. If you prepare for
emergencies, you will know what to do until professional help arrives.
Consider taking a first aid/CPR course at your
local Red Cross or fire department. You may save someone's life!
Some states have a Good Samaritan law which allows
individuals to give first aid and/or CPR within their training without
liability (call your local Red Cross office to verify whether the
law is valid in your state). Getting professional help is important,
but the first few minutes are critical.
A person can bleed to death in a few minutes.
Without oxygen, there could be severe brain damage or death. Know
what to do the next time there is an emergency at home, in a restaurant,
or on the highway.
Regardless of your age, sign up today to take
first aid/CPR classes. Take some friends with you!
First aid/CPR courses will teach you what to do
in case of:
- Choking
- Heart attack
- Shock
- Heat, electrical, or chemical burns
- Broken bones
- Severe bleeding
- Insulin reactions
- Seizures
- Heat stroke
- Stroke
- Poisoning
- Drowning
- And much, much more.
